There are times in an actor's life when their work demands them to be in front of a camera. There are also moments in time where they're not called for, but the offers come anyway. For example, back when Hermione Emma Watson wasn't filming anything, she hid out at Brown University by holing up in her dorm room. Wouldn't it have been so much easier if she could have gone off the grid? Well now, thanks to The Invisible Man 2: Second Generation, all that is possible with the help of some clever technology and a talented filmmaker named Otto Bell. Otto Bell's experience with the first film The Invisible Man allowed him to take on this challenge of creating a whole new world based around the concept of invisibility. Creating an environment where the invisibility is the norm and showing how people interact would be tricky, but Otto Bell stepped up to the task. The story takes place 30 years after Thomas (Joey Morgan) went into hiding after his amazing discovery of becoming invisible. Josef (Ryan Cooper) has followed in his father's footsteps and has become an idealistic scientist trying to make a difference in this changing world. He's tried many things, including an attempt at trying to recreate Thomas' discovery by injecting himself with Thomas' blood. However, this didn't take and he's left with a faulty body that shuts down his invisibility. Josef tries everything one can think of to fix himself, but nothing seems to work. Josef makes a connection with Princess Deidra (Emma Watson), a beautiful royal who has been keeping her father's secrets since the assassination of her mother. She is weary of Thomas' blood and not wanting anything to do with Josef's research. She finds herself alone with her thoughts on why her father would keep this type of information from the world, but she learns more about Thomas as she gets closer to Josef. (Watch the film to find out more.) Josef and Deidra being involved with each other is one of the highlights of this film. The bond they have, the connection they share, and even when things get rocky between them, they can always bring it back around to a place where everything's right in the world again. As Josef slips into a coma at one point in their story, Deidra has an outburst that made me cheer out loud. She showed her passion for Josef despite his inability to be seen. Not many actresses in this day and age could pull off a character like Princess Deidra without overdoing it or going too crazy with the emotion scenes. Emma Watson does a great job of keeping it in check and not to the point where she seemed like a bipolar roller coaster ride. I loved how Otto Bell worked in an underground movement in the film's setting that used Thomas' blood for their benefit. This allowed for some creative action scenes that also upped the emotional factor with Josef having to deal with the rebels who are trying to get their hands on his invisibility cure. The ending of this film was pure gold with some key players not being able to see each other, but still communicating through creative means. I liked how it ended on a poetic note, similar to how it started with Princess Deidra at her mother's gravesite. cfa1e77820
